NETWORKING EVENT AT LIEGE TOWN HALL ON 6 JUNE 2018

CVA 20 YEARS’ CELEBRATION

A conference and gathering were organised at the Town Hall by the CVA and the CVA Member City of Liège, attracting almost 50 participants from the Liège space sector. Also participating were Belspo, Wallonie Espace, the University of Liège, and a number of aerospace civil engineering masters students, as well as others from the Lycée de Waha, a secondary school which awards the Prix Ariane de la Ville de Liège annually to two students.

The participants were welcomed by the Liège Burgomaster, Willy Demeyer, and the CVA introduced by Brigitte De Deyne, CVA Bureau Member from Liège. She highlighted the CVA’s aims and the wide range of activities that Liège has organised and/or participated in since the city joined the network in 2001.

The highlight of the conference was a presentation of the new ArianeGroup structure and of Ariane 6, the future European launcher; this was given by Sylvie Marzocchi-Polizzi, ArianeGroup Institutional Relations Manager.

The event was much appreciated by those present and led to promising projects which should begin to take shape as from the autumn.
