18th edition, Toulouse summer school

The 18th edition of the CVA Summer School on space transportation systems, was hosted between 2 and 28 July, 2017 by the City of Toulouse and ISAE-SUPAERO, a world leader in aerospace engineering higher education.
The Summer School is the flagship of the CVA programmes, designed for engineering students, who have completed at least three years in higher education, and young professionals from the aerospace industry.
In addition to the lectures and teamwork on the theme of “The Future of European Space Transportation Systems: Needs, Challenges and Organisation”, the students visited institutions and companies in the Toulouse region, including Airbus D&S, CNES, Onera/Fauga, Thales Alenia Space and C’Space Day.
Alumni of previous Summer School sessions joined the participants for a space-based weekend, and visits were organised to the Clément Ader Institut, Cité de l’espace and Aeroscopia.
CVA would like to thank the City of Toulouse, ISAE-SUPAERO, all the lecturers and the Summer School Programme Committee – with representatives from ESA, CNES, ArianeGroup and Hochschule Bremen – for this year’s successful edition.
In total 32 students from different CVA Members took part, including Barcelona, Bordeaux, Bremen, Heilbronn (Forum Ariane Lampoldshausen), Rome (Colleferro), Madrid, Sevilla, Toulouse, as well as ESA and ArianeGroup.
One of the students, Diego Ortega Anatol, MsC in Aeronautic Engineering at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), wrote a short summary of his stay in Toulouse which he was happy to share: pdf
